Friendship with our Lord Jesus Christ

 

 

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit - fruit that will last - and so that whatever you ask in My name the Father will give you. This is My command: love each other. “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated Me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. (John 15:12-19 NIV)

Your relationship to Jesus involves faithfulness. There are revelations that the Lord will entrust you with, and you'll be tested on the basis of your faithfulness in keeping His secrets. Perhaps there is timing for when that revelation is to be released. Many people share what the Lord has shown them too soon, and this cuts them off from deeper revelations because they can't be trusted. Ask Him if it is wise to share your revelation. If you feel any hesitation in your spirit, hold back until you have a peace about sharing. There is a time to be silent and a time to speak, and some secrets are revealed over time. To reveal them early would be like having a premature baby, very dangerous. Depend on the Holy Spirit.

We do not worship God merely in the physical realm; you're to touch and tap into the spiritual reality, the truth. For God is Spirit, and everything related to God has to be in spirit. The word spirit could refer to the human spirit, the Holy Spirit, or the spirit realm. The Spirit of truth is the Spirit of reality. Hence, spiritual reality must be in the Holy Spirit. Spiritual reality is something that transcends people and things. Only that which is in the Holy Spirit is spiritual reality. All spiritual things are sustained in the Holy Spirit. Once a spiritual thing moves away from the Holy Spirit, it becomes letter and form, and it is dead. All spiritual things must be in the Holy Spirit before they can be real, living, and organic.

The Holy Spirit leads us into all reality. Hence, any experience that you can acquire without His guidance is surely not spiritual reality. Anything that you can acquire through your ear, mind, or your emotion alone is not spiritual reality. Only the things that the Holy Spirit guides us into are spiritual reality. You can enter into the spirit realm and worship anytime and anyplace. God has set up a place of worship that is accessible by all people, at all times: the secret place of the Most High. You can create a worship that God will enjoy and release His manifested presence. The Scriptures state that God loved the worship in the dedication service in the Tabernacle of David. As the people praised the Lord in unison, the glory of God came down as a cloud!

Remember Jesus sitting and talking with the Samaritan woman at the well? She brought up a culturally controversial question concerning the location of our worship. Where is the proper place to worship - where the Jews worship or where the Samaritans worship? In the temple in Jerusalem or on the mountain in Samaria? You could add, whether at home, in church, or at the workplace? Jesus, always being one step ahead, tells her a whole new location for proper worship is being set up. Worship must take place in spirit and in truth. Because God is a spirit, your worship must be in the spirit realm. It is the spiritual reality of Jesus that brings life, not just the physical knowledge. Everything in the Kingdom of God is about entering the spiritual reality. It is the Spirit that brings life, and you're a minister of the Spirit.

All power has been given to you friend of Jesus Christ, by the Father God Almighty. And you have a right to ask of it. You cannot have a need He cannot supply. A flower or a thousand dollars, one is not more difficult than the other. Your need is a spiritual need to carry on His work here on this Earth. All spiritual supply is fashioned from love. The flower and the thousand dollars - both are fashioned from love to those who need it. When you convert the love of Christ for you into a cheer for one you love or a smile, that cheer or smile means increased health. Increased health means more work for Christ, and that means more souls are won for Him. And so it goes on, a constant supply, but only if the need is a spiritual one.

The Scriptures say, you have everything you need to live a life that pleases God. It was all given to you by God’s own power, through your knowledge of Jesus Christ. God made great and marvelous promises, so that His nature would become part of you. Then you could escape your evil desires and the corrupt influences of this world. Do your best to improve your faith; as you employ every effort in exercising your faith, you develop excellence and character. And in exercising excellence, you develop understanding and wisdom. And in exercising wisdom, you develop self-control. And in exercising self-control, you develop patience. And in exercising patience, you develop godliness. And in exercising godliness, you develop kindness and concern for others. And in exercising kindness, you develop love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will make your life  more useful and meaningful, more effective and productive, in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Since a little faith can move mountains, a little love will completely change your world!
