RESOLVING STUBBORN PROBLEMS

“Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me,

For You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day.” (Psalm 25: 4-5)

Your problems have a way of piling up; they accumulate. Too many suddenly surface at the same time. Sometimes it’s not your fault. The Lord may be trying to teach you something. Quite often, the problems are designed to bring out the potential and excellence in you. Here are nine steps to meditating on the problems in your life. First, focus on God as Source of the solutions and not on your problems. Deliberately turn your attention away from the problems. This will release you from the tension of trying to solve the problems on your own strength. There is nothing impossible with our God. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. As He did it for you before, He’ll do it again for you!

Second, now face the problem at hand. Realize that there is potential good in the problem you’re facing now. It is a means for your maturing spiritually. Be patient to learn and discover the opportunities wrapped inside the problem. Understand that if you fail to learn now or if you run away from this problem, it will keep resurfacing until you learn how to deal with it. That is, until you learn or discover the good in the problem for you! Third, praise and worship God for giving you another opportunity to grow in experience. The Lord inhabits your praise. When you praise Him despite the circumstances, you reveal your trust in Him. He will show up and guide you. Realize that you praise God for who He is and not for what He does to you. Know that He is God no matter what your circumstances are!

Fourth, put every blame, excuse and complaint behind you. When a problem hits, it doesn’t make much difference who caused it. Don’t blame anyone, not even yourself. If you however caused it, confess it and accept forgiveness. Get on with allowing God to guide you to creative solutions. Your excuses, blames and complaints are displeasing to the Lord. Fifth, commit the problem to God in prayer. That will open the floodgates for the flow of divine wisdom and understanding into your mind. Be sensitive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Let your mind be alert and let your heart be open and receptive to new and creative ideas. Have your mind renewed by the Word of God! Have your heart and ears circumcised spiritually!

Sixth, claim God’s promise to help you. You can claim any of God’s promises – recorded in His written Word, the Holy Bible - that you are never alone. Here are two examples: “Ask and it will be given to you..... For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Mathew 7:7-8). "What I want from you is your true thanks; I want your promises fulfilled. I want you to trust me in your times of trouble, so I can rescue you, and you can give me glory." (Psalm 50:14-15 TLB). Seventh, share your problem with some of your trusted friends. God will use them to communicate His insight and guidance. In regard to your so-called enemies, hold no resentment or unforgiveness towards anyone, not even yourself. View everyone with the eyes of love and wisdom. And glory in their perfection, success and complete good.

Eighth, begin resolving the problem as directed by the Lord. Let God show you the first step. You won’t be able to take subsequent steps until you make the initial move. Obedience is the key to spiritual knowledge and wisdom, courage and power. God will give you the goal and vision of the solution to your problem according to His plan and purposes. Obey Him completely. When in doubt, check back with Him! Ninth, offer thanksgiving gifts to God and the people who helped you along the way. Thank the Lord for the practical steps you heard Him give you. You attract His attention in subsequent circumstances of need. God will use even your so-called enemies to bless you. Bless everyone. Bless them for the goodness of God in them. Bless them for the goodness of God that is working in them and through them.  Know that everyone and everything is working together to prosper you! Keeping loving you and loving other people. Love never fails. God is love and love is God.

   Food For Thought

We have been deceived that if we prayed and fasted long enough, anything we say or ask for will either appear or disappear. Whatever happened to un-forgiveness in the heart, pride, envy, or in short, sinful lifestyle? God is merciful but He is also a God of justice. The wages of sin is dead and hearing and obeying God commands blessings. If we are to benefit from the Kingdom lifestyle, we need to understand how the Kingdom of God operates. Seek the Kingdom and its righteousness and all these things will be added on to us! This does not imply we leave everything else and seek the Kingdom of God. It simply means that the Kingdom of God has principles we must understand how they operate in order to benefit from it! If we don’t, we will be reading the Word of God and celebrating information but it will not impact our lives and nothing will change.
