The Christ Disciple Dimension

 

 

Every student of the Scriptures who becomes a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like someone who brings out new and old treasures from the storeroom. (Matthew 13:52 CEV).

Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you. I will be with you always, even until the end of the world. (Matthew 28: 19-20 CEV).

 

Natural and spiritual babies require someone to feed them. You can learn to feed yourself and begin to feed others this year 2013. What an exciting new year goal to pursue! We mature through the consistent practice of good habits, character traits and disciplines. Through practice we become better and better at these skills and habits. Discipline is work and perseverance. It produces life. God has given you a spirit of discipline. Do your part and God will surely more than do His. Through the practice of spiritual disciplines you'll feed yourself and others. Some basic spiritual disciplines are thanksgiving and praise, worship and journaling, meditation and declarations, Bible study and teaching, forgiving and prayer, fasting and giving, receiving and work, ministry and rest. Your thoughts become your attitudes. Your attitudes become your words. Your words become your actions. Your actions become your habits. And then your habits become your character traits. It takes about 21 days to form a habit; and it takes about 90 days to develop a character trait. So concentrate and focus your attention and thoughts on your goals of changing your habits and character and you'll make it through Christ.

 

The basic 16 spiritual disciples listed above are skills and habits. They'll put you into a position to hear God and be used by God.  A skill enables you to hear God and be used by God. A habit puts you in a place to consistently hear God and be used by God. These spiritual disciplines will impact every area of your life and lifestyle. The skills will help you in business and education. The habits will help your relationships and marriage. God is vivid and personal, powerful and closer than a friend. Thank God for caring. Praise God, honor God, and worship God. God inhabits the praise of His people. God inhabits your praise. God speaks to you as you pray and fast. Declare God's promises to yourself, to your circumstances, and to others. Prophesy your future and the future of others. When God speaks, listen and capture, then record and declare what God reveals. God teaches you as you study the Bible. Teach others what God teaches you. How could you keep God to yourself! You hold God's Word in your memory and in your heart and, therefore, it flows out of your mouth. Do what you say you believe. Be accountable. Let your family and friends hold you to your words.

 

Make your plans with God. Work together with God and make God your ministry and your business senior partner. And you'll see miracles every day. Plan your giving and serving with God. Give and God will give you more to continue to give. Set your goals with God. Decide why you want to achieve these goals. Then you evaluate the results of your actions with God. Be consistent in whatever you do with God. As you take time to record what God has done in your life and lifestyle, you'll be constantly amazed and made hungry for more. You must love to work. For faith without works is dead. Work hard, work smart. Be diligent to rest and relax. You've to rest in God. Work to rest and relax. Make plans for fun and family. Let your best friend, your spouse get the best of your time.

 

You've just been led through a normal Disciple's lifestyle, a disciplined life. A Disciple of Christ is a disciplined Christian. That simply means adding works to your faith, practicing what you believe! You therefore take responsibility for yourself. You make your way prosperous through Christ. In God, you make yourself a success. As a Christian, you've a story, a supernatural story, a story of miraculous ongoing change. Become a Disciple of Christ this year 2013, a Christian who can feed self and others with spiritual food. You can do it. And God will change you and you'll change the world. This is the essence of being and making Disciples of Christ. You can see possibilities and you can dwell in possibilities. Then you will live in the supernatural dimension from today through Christ who strengthens you.
